10×100=1000
a project about numbers
The project 10 x 100 = 1000 is visual expedition within the field of typography, experimentation with numbers to be more specific. On the hunt for new letterforms, I challenged myself to design 100 variations of the arabic digits 0 to 9. The emerged forms relate to topics like readability, clarity, iteration and recognition in various intensities. The developed form-matrix is meant to stimulate other designers to finding new letterforms. Besides the 1000 different digits, I designed three publications along with it.
A 48-page exhibition catalog in 16x32cm with a fold out postercover celebrates all digits in a new way.
The wire-o-bound 10x10cm publication contains 2x500 digits. Is available as a single book, or as an experimental double book. Each book contains of 250 pages.
